Donation to the National Peace Jirga of Afghanistan by MTN Foundation

On June 17th 09 MTN Foundation donated 10 HP Compaq Computers, 2 Digital Cameras, 50 SIM cards and 125,000Afghanis to the National Peace Jirga of Afghanistan.

The national peace Jirga is an initiative to bring peace in the country and to put the affairs of the country on the path that could lead the nation towards prosperity and development. “As part of Afghanistan’s development drive, MTN is honored to participate in the peace process by donating the requested items to the National Peace Jirga’ commented Mr. Ziaullah Siddiqui, MTN Afghanistan CEO.

Ziaullah Siddiqui CEO of MTN Afghanistan said, “Peace is the most vital ingredient for the progress and prosperity of any country and taking step towards the peace in Afghanistan is truly commendable. MTN Foundation is a project that has been established for the purposes of wellbeing and development of the people of Afghanistan. Having an opportunity of playing its part in the peace process is not less then a tribute to the foundation” he added.
