  • Preparing and reviewing the entries posted to general ledger and the reconciliations with sub-ledgers

Duties & ResponsibilitiesDuties & Responsibilities

Key Tasks:

  • Ensure that the financial operations activities meet world class benchmarks
  • Interface with local and international financial institutions, consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
  • Provide other business units and management with support to meet their requirements and to provide financial leadership and guidance
  • Manage projects to improve business efficiencies, reduce inputs and automate processes
  • Ensure close liaison and assistance to all functions within the company on budgetary control and accurate expense reporting.
  • Ensure alignment of finance policies processes and procedures with the business goals of MTNA
  • Ensure compliance to local regulations and laws within Financial Operations department’s scope of responsibilities
  • Manage the performance and deliverables of direct and indirect reports to ensure that the objectives of the department are achieved
  • Maintain performance and compliance obligations

  • Booking and reviewing of inter-company transactions and reconciliation of payable/receivable balances to/from MTN Subsidiaries.
  • Loading of Inter-Company transactions/balances into ARC system for consolidation purposes
  • Preparing and loading monthly trial balance to FCC system.
  • Reconciliation of FCC balances with monthly management report
  • To ensure that all transactions are posted according to IFRS/IAS
  • Maintaining all leases record in MRI software according to IFRS16 leases including addition, modification and deletion/disposal of leases
