MTN Afghanistan under the umbrella of MTN Foundation distributes 1000 free blankets for the 500 internal displaced, underprivileged and needy families whom were displaced from their provinces due to war.

MTN continued its mission dedicated to supporting the needy people of Afghanistan through its humanitarian Aid program which brings important supply such as blankets.

The subject program was taken place in duly coordination with the Ministry of Refugee, Repatriation and the Ministry of Social affairs, labor, martyred and disabled. The honorable Ministries introduced 500 of the most needy for the blankets distribution; the disbursement of the blankets had taken place on 7th march 2017 in Kabul.

Chief Executive Officer of MTN Afghanistan Mr. Hassan Jabber and Mr. Zahid the General Manager Corporate Affairs in the inauguration ceremony of the program delivered keynote and said: “           MTN foundation cares and takes this as the moral responsibility to help and support the underprivileged and needy people of the community to provide shelter sources. Our core of business is not only to maximize profit but is also to earn the love of those whom are in desperate need of shelter. He also appreciated the efforts and vision of MTN foundation especially of those whom brings such initiates of support to the neediest in the community.

His Excellency Mr. Hakimi the deputy minister of Refugee and Repatriation after appreciating and thanking Mr. Hasan Jaber, the CEO along with Mr. Hedayatullah Zahed, General Manager of Corporate Affairs of MTN Afghanistan and said that MTN is always taking into account the highest priorities and categorize the needs of the community, He also added that MTN is always reaching itself to the truly service of Afghan people that grabbed in extremely difficult circumstances, I really appreciate such program initiated by MTN and urging other private sectors to follow MTN and take active step in helping and reaching the needy ones of our community.

This is not the first time that MTNA has contributed and arranged programs like distributing blankets to needy ones but previously MTN provided such free education program for 500 afghan eligible male and female students in the other institutions which had very fruitful result.

It worth mentioning that MTN Foundation is constituted under MTN Afghanistan Telecommunication Company, that working for the enhancement of the community in different areas  such as empowering Afghan youth by providing free education opportunity and  creating well-equipped and modern Computer lab for orphans, coloring and reconstructing of  the schools and universities, providing the School students with the free lesson material and stationary and conducting free basic computer training across the Kabul,  MTN Foundation also assists  the needy and underprivileged people such as: Blood Donation for Thalassemia and kango affected patients, distributing blankets, warm cloths and other necessary items and goods  in Baghlan  province and deploying its medical crew along with Mobile Clinic of such  Foundation to Nangarhar Province for the urgent  medical treatment and to help the earthquake affected people and distribution of blanket, worm cloths and food on the war-displaced  and earthquake effected people, plantation, supporting world environment day, anti-narcotics project and Olympic games for orphans. The mentioned foundation also takes active part in assisting for the renovation and expansion of the Mosques, under the 21 days of Y’ello Care seasonal campaign that taking place every year starting from first day of June and lasts for 21 days in all 21 countries that MTN operated in.
