MTN Afghanistan under the umbrella of MTN Foundation provided free education opportunity for 500 Afghan male and female students in various subjects, the aim of this initiates is that those students who intend to pursue their studies in the various subjects and have no financial back up or related to low income families that cannot affords to continue their studies with personal expenses can take advantage of this program.

The subject program was taken place in duly coordination  with Deputy Ministry of Youth Affairs and Ministry of Education with its district brunches across the Kabul, as the aforementioned honorable entities introduced 1500 interested candidates to MTN for entry exam from various locality of Kabul city, the entry exam was taken place on 28^th Oct-2016 in very professional and  transparent atmosphere as the scene of the exam was overseen  by the management of Shaheen institute representative of MTN.

Finally 500 best students out 1500 were qualified that found way for free education thru such one year Diploma program in various subjects .i.e. Diploma in Information Technology (DIT), Diploma in English Language (DEL) and Diploma

in Business Administration (DBA). This education program will be carried out in one of the topes instituted of the Kabul city name Shaheen Institute that duly licensed by Ministry of Education and AIAS holding brand and rich experiences and qualified lecturer located at 8^thDistrict of Kabul Afghanistan.

Chief Executive Officer of MTN Afghanistan Mr. Hassan Jabber and Mr. Zahid the General Manager Corporate Affairs in the inauguration ceremony of the program delivered keynote and said: “           MTN Afghanistan management recognized the value and the importance of the knowledge and the development of the Afghan youth in such sensitive circumstances that is why we chose and prefer the free education project,  he added: educating one person or providing education opportunity for one person is in fact the empowering one entire family  or even the entire community and MTN is fully committed to use its best and tireless efforts with best of their ability to provide free education to Afghan youth.

The representative of Ministry of Education Mr. . Said: I am truly happy to appear and take part in a program in which solely concentrated on the education and development of Afghan youth, as you know better the key factor for the strength and empowerment of the youth is education and investment in youth is not only help with these individual who will profiting this program or their family only but it is  in fact the help with the economic and educational  development of the whole country, I really appreciate such program initiated by MTN and urging  other private sectors to follow MTN and take active step in the developing of our young generation, he added.

This is not the first time MTN is running such education program, as previously MTN provided such free education program for 290 afghan eligible male and female students in the same institute which had very fruitful result.

It worth mentioning that MTN Foundation is constituted under MTN Afghanistan Telecommunication Company, that working for the enhancement of the community in different areas  such as empowering Afghan youth by providing free education opportunity and  creating well-equipped and modern Computer lab for

orphans, coloring and reconstructing of  the schools and universities, providing the School students with the free lesson material and stationary and conducting free basic computer training across the Kabul,  MTN Foundation also assists  the needy and underprivileged people such as: Blood Donation for Thalassemia and kango affected patients, distributing blankets, warm cloths and other necessary items and goods  in Baghlan  province and deploying its medical crew along with Mobile Clinic of such  Foundation to Nangarhar Province for the urgent  medical treatment and to help the earthquake affected people and distribution of blanket, worm cloths and food on the war-displaced  and earthquake effected people, plantation, supporting world environment day, anti-narcotics project and Olympic games for orphans. The mentioned foundation also takes active part in assisting for the renovation and expansion of the Mosques, under the 21 days of Y’ello Care seasonal campaign that taking place every year starting from first day of June and lasts for 21 days in all 21 countries that MTN operated in.
